Our high quality English for Academic Purposes program offers you the chance to truly gain the skills necessary for academic and workplace success. Our supportive staff will make the process of applying and studying in the U.S. a smooth experience. Other institutes offer cut-rate programs and almost no advising support, but the ELI is different. *For International Students with an F-1 visa, students must be enrolled full-time (3 courses/semester), and health insurance is required. Part-time enrollment is only available for Texas residents.

Registration and Payment

  1. Tuition is billed at the beginning of the semester for the full semester.  
  2. Students must register and pay their designated tuition and fees by 12 noon on Friday of the first week. 
  3. If payment is not made by the required time, students will not be allowed to attend class. 
  4. Absences due to non-payment are considered unexcused. 

Refund Policy

  • Students are not eligible for any refunds of their tuition for the entire semester if they withdraw, transfer, or are dismissed after the ELI census date. 
  • Once a student registers, they are required to pay their tuition, fees, and insurance, even if they stop attending. 
  • If a student withdraws on or after the first program day, they may be eligible for a partial refund according to the following schedule. To withdraw, a student must send an email to both the director and eliadmissions@uta.edu stating their intent to withdraw along with documentation to maintain immigration status. 
  • The program week begins on the first program day as listed on your I-20 (not on the first day of classes). 
  • Note that under no circumstances will insurance and fees be refunded. 

If a student withdraws from the EAP, the refund shall be determined as follows:

NOTES:

  • Health insurance and UTA fees are not refundable
  • Students are responsible for their tuition and fees regardless of when they register.
  • The refund policy remains the same regardless of when students pay their tuition and fees.
  • Students are not eligible for a refund of any tuition if they withdraw, transfer out, or are dismissed after the first week of the semester.
  • The program week includes the first day of registration and holidays.
